Meet Andrew Finley (Andy)


Andy joined Peninsula CrossFit in:

Jan 27, 2017. It was cold and snowing during elements.   I kept calling Stefanie Christina and vise versa.

 


Favourite WOD or movement:

I like to lift pretty much anything. I’m always humbled by just how efficient my boxmates are and just how much training was required when I see a 225 lb clean. I can not wait to get there.

Least Favourite WOD or movement:

I would have to say I have a love hate relationship with skipping particularly double unders.   A close second would be burpees but I’m actually doing those for reals now.

Proudest accomplishment:

Running the mile nonstop

Advice to someone just starting CrossFit:

Don’t chase the rabbit too hard, love who you are and what you can accomplish because it will change, but change happens over time in CrossFit. Listen more than you talk, always finish a WOD even if it doesn’t make the time, mobility mobilty, mobility and for God sake have fun.

Goals for this year:

Drop pounds, do another open, Canwest, clean 185, run faster, climb a rope, do more double unders than last year.

 

Andy is determined! He will finish every WOD he starts. You’ll see him in class early cranking out double under practice and in open gym doing negatives on the pull-up bar. He sets goals and goes after them. He’s now got two Opens, the CanWest games and Festivus games under his belt!
