Warm Up

Place multi-colored cones 5-6 feet apart in a line. Split kids into groups of 3-4. Designate 1 kid in each group to be the leader. Pull the leaders aside and tell them an instruction (for example, bear crawl to the red cone, then run to the purple). The leaders must then tell their team what to do.

Repeat several times with multiple different directions.

This is a warmup focused on communication and listening skills.

Skill

Partner kids up and have them stand across from each other, about 10 feet apart. Demonstrate the “point, step, throw” progression. Let them practice for 7-8 minutes.
