Corinne Rai

Joined Peninsula CrossFit in:

Officially in January 2017, but had been taking a separate class with coach Stef since May 2016.

Favourite WOD or Movement:

Deadlift and Clean & Jerk. Any of the Olympic lifts really. I enjoy these the most because I feel strong when doing them. It’s very empowering when you hit a new PR, and when you realize that you can lift that weight that you never thought you could.

Least favourite WOD or Movement:

Durante Core… It hurts sooooo bad.    

 

Proudest accomplishment:

Nailing those pesky double unders!

Advice for someone just starting CrossFit:

Don’t worry about what everyone else is doing, just concentrate on yourself and what you’re trying to achieve. Everyone there struggles with a particular movement or is hindered by an old injury no matter what level of fitness they’re at, you won’t be alone in that. Just work at it, you won’t regret it!

Goals for this year:

To get that Toes to Bar that I’m so close to, and to get my pullups. Edit – Since writing this Corinne got her first Toes to Bar!

 

What we have to add about this athlete:

Corinne is such a hardworking, caring person. She really has life balance down. Even when her plate is full of barn chores and house renos, she comes into the gym with a laid back easy smile and is quick to help anybody out. We’re so glad you stuck with us transitioning from bootcamp to CrossFit! Cheers to another year of getting fitter, faster, stronger 🙂
